Advertisement for Myself

I won’t even bother to dissemble. This is likely to be among the most self-serving blog posts I’ll ever write and you’ll ever read.

The June issue of *Wizard* (#164) contains a very flattering article about me and my alleged career.

I’d like to thank Chris Lawrence for writing the piece, for all the nice things he had to say in it, and especially for the kind words about *Hard Time*.

Thanks also to the editorial staff of *Wizard*, naturally, for putting it into print.

Here’s the cover:

Don't strain your eyes; I didn't rate a cover blurb -- but believe me, I'm not complaining!

You should still be able to find the issue at your local comics shop.

Damn. I feel about as comfortable buying Wizard as a 15 year old boy would feel buying Tampons. But I’ll do it.

Steve, you say that as if self-promotion is a bad thing. I know you always feel somewhat uncomfortable doing it, but if you don’t promote the Steve Gerber brand (or at least co-operate), who will?

When Mark Twain put on the white suit and became the Belle of New York, that was egotism. When Isaac Asimov wrote an autobiography so fat Doubleday had to publish in two volumes, that was egotism, too.

And the world was better for it. Ipso facto, not narcissism.

G’wan, show off a little. What light thru yonder bushel breaks an’ all that.

Truth be told, I actually found the article…touching. (When was the last time you heard anybody say *that* about *Wizard*?) I’m not accustomed to having such nice things said about me. Seriously.

It was definitely a good read.
