Sick Again…

It never fails. I’ve got urgent writing to do this weekend, and the diet was starting to work again — so naturally, I come down with something flu-like that floors me utterly and puts me back on 60 mg of prednisone for the next five days.

This is the Cosmic Thwart at work. It’s a force in the universe that targets whatever is most critical in life, whatever matters most at a given moment, and, with the accuracy of William Tell armed with a laser-sighted rifle, brings down precisely the skills and abilities needed to accomplish that thing.

I’ve been on intimate terms with the Cosmic Thwart for most of my life. I’m told it doesn’t afflict everyone equally — I don’t know. I probably need to go watch The Secret again.

Sigh…

That is sad to hear. What else can we do from afar then to hope and pray for the best.

Getting that giant ball of inertia rolling into a creative momentum is often nigh on impossible for me! I guess the cosmic thwart is the natural resistance to such momentum coming back at one’s self..

Hope you can fend off your “flu-like” quickly!

Donna and I are both concerned for you… hope this isn’t going to knock you flat…

It did for a couple of days. The doctor put me back on antibiotics and gave me Tamiflu, and I seem to be improving. Operating at this level of vulnerability is a truly colossal pain in the ass.

Hope you are on the mend. Wish I was there with some good hot chicken soup. Art and I send our love and wish you a very productive 2008.

The Secret is a starter tool, but it’s a bit of a mess that throws around concepts from Unity and other New Thought churches in a confusing way that keeps emphasizing how easy it is, when belief is the key, and you do or you don’t–you can’t make yoursrelf believe, but there are tools to believing smaller things to get to believing bigger things.
